About Us

Our story is not so different from many others in the fact that I began to experiment and dabble with products that I was passionate about. Garden décor was not a prominent category back in 1982 when I started fooling around in my metal shop with wrought iron products. I had seen gazing globes mostly around farming communities as far back as my childhood but never really understood what they were for back then.  Never in my wildest dreams did I consider that several decades later I would head a company that would go on to become the largest supplier of globes in North America (maybe the world?) Every gazing globe, it seemed, was mounted on a ceramic or concrete birdbath pedestal, which was the traditional method. But I thought I could make an interesting globe stand from wrought iron, so I did.  Until that time, we had been trading in brasswares like sundials and garden signs, and along the way we developed our first of many hose guides which quickly became a hit. We finally decided to exhibit at a big garden show and took the wrought iron globe stand there, showing it with a gazing globe that I borrowed from my Aunt Irene. (You can blame her for my introduction and fascination with gazing globes, and she still has more in her yard than anybody.)

Well, that gazing globe and stand received a lot of attention at that show and I got so tired of explaining that we only were selling the stand and not the globes, that I promptly began searching all over for the best gazing globes. Before too long, we were selling tens of thousands of them, in all different sizes along with several styles of wrought iron and by this time, molded resin neo-classic columns and pedestals. Like most companies we've evolved and changed along the way but our #1 commitment has always been taking care of our customers and designing interesting products. I'm especially proud of our patent pending Illuminarie™ family of glow in the dark globes, garden stakes and accessories (mushrooms, bird feeders and more...) We design every piece ourselves and it has become one of the most popular product lines we've ever developed. From our new Luna-Lite™ with an ultra-violet, solar charged light system, to our Pot Stickers (small glow stakes for containers and such) we remain committed to bringing you unique and quality products at an affordable price.
